January 20, 2018
Today at 11:30 AM, the team of Alex Txikon (Spain) successfully climbed to the summit of Mt. Pumori situated at an altitude of 7,161m under the management of Seven Summit Treks. The team that includes Muhammad Ali Sadpara (Pakistan), Nuri Sherpa, and Temba Bhote is now heading back to the base camp after the successful climb. The team aims to climb atop the summit of Mt. Everest this winter and has, so far, reached camp II on the way to Everest. They have ascended the peak as a part of their winter expedition and the final ascent of the summit will be completed by the third week of February. The first-ever successful winter expedition of Mt. Pumori was accomplished by two Japanese citizens named Hiroshi Aota and Yoshiki Sasahara in 1986.
